General FAQs

Talent is often nurtured and rewarded in unique ways within a business but with the Salon Excellence Awards® we aim to bring talented salon professionals together on a national stage to recognise and reward their achievements.

Success comes in many forms and it should always be celebrated. The Salon Excellence Awards® were created to reward both the leaders of today and to inspire the leaders of the future.

All winners will receive a trophy and certificate, not to mention the boasting rights to the specific accolade for the next 12 months.

Your business will also receive a unique window sticker to display in your salon to let your customers and prospects know about your achievements.

Winners and finalists will be listed in The Salon Magazine including both on-line and print editions plus we’ll be shouting your praises across our social media platforms.

National and regional awards will presented in a number of separate categories.

Manager of the Year Awards will be offered separately for large & small businesses in the following categories:

  • Hair & Beauty Salons
  • Beauty & Aesthetics clinics

Salon Marketing Awards may be awarded to an individual or a team who have shown particular innovation or success with a promotional campaign or activity.

Salon Hero Awards will be presented to inspirational individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their organisations. This may be any member of the team at any level.

Judges

The Salon Excellence Awards will be judged by a panel of independent, impartial assessors. See more information about our judges here.

To ensure a fair and rigorous assessment process, applications will be reviewed regionally by three separate judges and a short-list of nominees will be submitted as Finalists in each category.

At the final stage, additional information may be requested from applicants before the confirmed list of all Finalists are reviewed by all judges and an aggregate score will be used to determine the winners in each category.

Nominations/Nominees

Registration is open to professionals from beauty salons, aesthetics clinics or medi-spas and hair & beauty businesses. (Please note Hair salons that do not provide any beauty services are excluded from the awards).

Self-nominations or peer nominations are equally welcome. You must simply identify the category of Award you wish to apply for and enter the nominee’s details in the application form.

If you wish to keep the nomination for a colleague secret, you will be able to do this via the registration process.

Initial entry to the Salon Excellence Awards® will close on 31st December 2021, followed by a short-listing process and a further assessment by the judges.

The initial judging process runs from December 2021 to February 2022. Throughout this period all entrants, whether shortlisted or not, will be contacted to inform them of the outcome and/or next steps.

The Awards differentiate between salon professionals with different responsibilities and levels within the team but in some cases, it may be appropriate for you to register for more than one Award.

If you choose to apply for more than one award, this will require a separate application entry for each category.

Initial registration is FREE, however if you are lucky enough to be shortlisted for an Award, you may be charged a small entry fee to cover administration & costs judging.

BUT this fee is redeemable against your ticket to the Awards Gala Dinner.
